PATHWAYS TO LICENSURE

School Pathway

Training Hours: 500

Current Vermont law sets mandated formal esthetics training at 500 hours. Applicants follow the Office of Professional Regulation's approved examination pathway, including the required theory and practical components. Practice is limited to nonmedical esthetics within Title 26 and Board rules. Licenses renew on the profession's biennial schedule; no routine practitioner continuing-education requirement was identified. Endorsement applicants should document active licensure and substantially equivalent qualifications.

Apprenticeship Pathway

Training Hours: 750

An approved apprenticeship may substitute for formal school training. Vermont law limits required apprenticeship duration to no more than 150 percent of the corresponding 500-hour formal program, or up to 750 hours.
